Newquay's Finest Hits The Streets of Newquay!

Last night Newquay's Finest was given the oppurtunity to do some street art on a shop front in the heart of Newquay!

The session started at about 9pm when the shop's shutters went down, and we were spraying till about 1am in the morning. Lots of people commented on how a splash of colour is always welcome in the darker areas of any town, so hopefully you may see some more graffiti from us around Newquay in the near future.

We'd like to thank Jason from Island Style for letting us use his shop front and to be the pioneer of a something quite upbeat for Newquay. Hopefully our unique styles and willingness to put ourselves out there for the good of our site and the community reflects the work we have put into the Newquay's Finest business model.

Thanks for all the comments and support all who were there... a great night was had by everyone involved.

"Leaving Cornwall" a Poem by Linda Cook

After spending 15 months in Cornwall, Linda has decided to leave for her own personal reasons. However she did leave us with this lovely poem about Cornwall.

"CORNWALL MY CORNWALL OH HOW I LOVE YOU SO
BUT NOW I'VE SHARED THE BEST OF YOU ITS TIME FOR ME TO GO
I'VE PADDLED IN YOUR BRINY AND TRODDEN ON YOUR MOORS
HAD WALKS ALONG YOUR RIVERBANKS AND HEARD THE ATLANTIC ROAR
YOUR ENGINE HOUSES THRILLED ME WITH THEIR MAJESTY AND PRIDE
SO MANY THOUSANDS TOILED THERE AND HOW MANY THOUSANDS DIED?
IN OH SO MANY PLACES I'VE SPOTTED CHIMNEYS TALL
BUT IF I LIVED HERE FOREVER I'M SURE I'D NOT SEE THEM ALL
I'VE SEEN LEVANT AND GEEVOR SOUTH CROFTY AND DULCOATH
KING EDWARD MINE AND PEEVOR BLUE HILLS AND WHEAL COATES
MY HEART IS REALLY HEAVY AS I'M LEAVING YOU BEHIND
BUT I'LL BE BACK BECAUSE YOU WILL BE FOREVER IN MY MIND
FROM LANDS END UP TO LAUNCESTON, FROM PADSTOW DOWN TO PAR
I'VE TRAVELLED EVERY MILE WITH LOVE AND NOWHERE'S BEEN TOO FAR
ST PIRANS ORATORY TRURO AND PENZANCE TOO
THE MINACK, GWEEK AND FALMOUTH AND NOT FORGETTING LOOE
I'VE EATEN AT JAMAICA INN BUT DIDNT SEE A GHOST
I REALLY COULDNT TELL YOU THE PLACE I LOVE THE MOST
THERE ARE SO MANY MEMORIES, THE SEA AND SKY ABOVE
AND YET THEY MEAN SO LITTLE... WITHOUT THE MAN I LOVE"
